ROLE: Lead Designer

BRIEF: Redesign the monthly email newsletter for Bayer Consumer Health’s Access program to improve subscriber engagement and increase open and interaction rates.

APPROACH: Email newsletters compete within crowded inbox environments, where users often scan quickly and decide within seconds whether to engage or move on. The redesign focused on creating a visually distinctive, easily scannable template that could capture attention while making content easy to navigate.

The solution was a modular email framework that balanced strong brand recognition with a more approachable, human tone. Key design considerations included:

  • A modular layout system that allowed content blocks to be rearranged depending on messaging priorities

  • Clear visual segmentation using bright brand colors to help users quickly distinguish between sections and highlight featured products

  • Lifestyle driven photography for a more authentic tone compared to traditional product-forward emails

  • Handwritten style accents to reinforce the brand’s conversational voice and create a sense of personalization

This flexible template allowed for visual consistency while adapting the content to support different campaigns, product highlights, and seasonal messaging.
